An accurate metaphor for someone's career would be to use stairs to describe that person's journey from the bottom to the top. Assuming that the first physical step is the start of their career and the last step is the top, each physical step is a representation of their journey.
Tarik is headed up a set of stairs that will soon categorize him as a well known artist. His next physical step will be an upcoming live show in New York.
